Coal is one of the main energy contributors to the national grid of Sri Lanka, used by thermal power plants. It is also used in the domestic production of steel and cement, but to a lesser extent. Mondial Impex act as brokers for the importation of Coal into Sri Lanka, Coal is mainly imported from South Africa, Russia and partly from Indonesia.
